Theres this mindset among some players that states:

A) I paid for the game
B) I should have access to everything because I paid for it
so
C) If something is too hard for me, it needs to be easier because I paid for it and I want access to it

This mindset is what has been destroying the game for a while now.

Yeap and that mindset was PvP based.

check out Skyes thread. Sorry lyra but your idea wouldnt work and the concept is a mismatched patchwork of ideas.

How does the common PvP mindset have a correlation to:

Skye's idea is a subtraction (remove things to make it harder). Mine is an addition (add something new to make it harder)

We both want a challenge, both go different ways doing it.

My concept is designed to combat what plagues me the most in Guild Wars.

Boredom and staticity.

Its more dynamic and changing, based on player. It is more difficult, yes. But i think far more interesting.

Skye's idea is certainly more implementable, since it is less work.

but even if the skills were based on PvP versions, the monsters are still the same monsters and will still use the same builds and be eventually exploited.

We have Protector and Guardian titles, we need a harder mode yet for more? Why? I see no point...

And I realize we don't have to play in HM but if you want certain titles you're forced to. What's the big deal with me saying HM is too hard and they should be focusing on GW2 instead? What's with the "I can't believe you said that, you can't be serious" comments? Excuse me for stating MY opinion.

Not like I'm the only one that disagrees...

Because harder is better, more challenging and gives you more to do. As for the "focusing on GWII instead" comment, this is a suggestion forum. If that was the case this forum would be locked and a forum named something like "GWII Suggestions Forum" would be opened up. Just because hard mode is considered hard by some people isn't why it shouldn't be implimented. It is that mindset that is bad. Hard mode isn't supposed to be easy, and if you want an easy / mediocre difficulty you should stay in normal mode.

I agree for the challenge part, but for most of the players, harder=frustration and frustration leads to massive whining and in the end, a nerf happens.

QFT. It's amazing the things that QQ accomplishes.
